Carrus Behavioral Health Hospital offers both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services for youth between the ages of 5 and 17.
Our facilities and grounds in Frisco and Sherman, Texas, are beautiful and serene. Our psychiatrists and mental health providers utilize state-of-the-art therapies and approaches to help your child navigate the complex challenges of modern life. What is the “Carrus Difference”?
At Carrus Behavioral Health Hospital, we provide exceptional care for children and teens who may be experiencing a mental health crisis.

- Customized treatment and discharge plans
- High staff-to-patient ratio, with 7 staff members for every 2 patients

- Daily visits by pediatricians and psychiatrist

- On-site security, including visual and auditory surveillance inside the facility
We also offer a variety of therapy options to choose from, including:
- Individual (one-on-one) therapy
- Group therapy

PHP and IOP Available
For patients ages 12 to 17, we offer two types of programs, the partial hospitalization program (PHP) and intensive outpatient program (IOP). Both PHP and IOP feature an 8-week rolling curriculum, guest speakers, family wrap-up and tips on Fridays, as well as community encouragement. Families and providers at our facilities are able to schedule appointments on behalf of a child for step-down care.
Benefits of our PHP and IOP treatments include:
- School for 3 hours/day, computers provided
- Transportation to/from our facility within a 20-mile radius, with tracking
- Full-day program runs from 8:30 am - 4:15 pm, although enrollees can arrive at 8 am and stay until 5 pm
For both PHP and IOP, you can choose to enroll in either a care-based program or faith-based program — and there is no wait list!
Faith-Based PHP and IOP
The faith-based programs are open to all who would like to learn about mental health and God’s love. This nondenominational program promotes healing of the mind, body, and spirit. Every young person admitted to the faith-based program will be given a bible and bible highlighters to help with learning.
Activities in the faith-based programs consist of:
- Faith-based group therapy (60%)
- Daily bible verse (20%)
- Prayer time (15%)
- Guest speakers (5%)
Extensive Financial Options
At Carrus Behavioral Health Hospital, we accept most major commercial insurance plans, VA healthcare benefits, as well as Medicaid (pending). If we are out of network for you, we may be able to provide care based on a single case agreement, known as an SCA. We also offer hardship opportunities and extended payment plans for those who need it.
